    Liu Ping - a prominent Jaiangxi-based activist and "New Citizens' Movement" member, was detained in April 2013 as part of a nation wide crackdown on freedom of assembly, association, and expression that began in March of that year. Liu was intially arrested for "inciting subversion of state power," but, authorities later dropped that accusation and charged her with three other crimes. She was tried alsonside Li Sihua and Wei Zhongping - Lenth of Punishment: Six years and Six months

    The Sihua case refused to hold a trial at this second instance, and a ruling was issued to maintain the sentencing. The verdict is shown in the picture below.

    Subsequently, Liu Ping was immediately transferred to the Jiangxi Provincial Women's Prison in Nanchang. Liu Ping’s daughter, Liao Minyue, consulted the Jiangxi Provincial Women’s Prison Office and Nanchang Women’s Prison and told the family to meet in accordance with the law next week. Tomorrow Liao Minyue will go to the detention center to ask for a notice of imprisonment. She can finally see her mother after nearly a year and a half. She begged the relevant departments not to obstruct, this was just a daughter's most human request.

    In addition, the family members of Wei Zhongping and Li Sihua failed to contact Nanchang Prison.
